Damn the Man!

Main005I’m all for damning the corporate man (also one of the best movie quotes ala Empire Records), but I’m hesitant to understand the concept behind the “Screw the Man, Save the World” campaign of NEED magazine. If they get 25,000 subscriptions, they can eliminate advertising in the magazine for a year. They must have raised their subscription price in order to cover to costs that advertisers were paying for. I like that the recession has pushed media outlets to think outside the box to stay alive, and this idea could take off and save one more magazine from folding, but from the looks of the goal measurer, they have a little ways to go to convince me.
